Indoor Picnic

So, its cold and wet outside and its mid week and you have had a crap day running around and chasing your tail and just being generally brilliant but not at all recognised or appreciated in the office for your hard work? so what ya gonna do? Have an indoor picnic of course!

For all of those that live in Ireland, we know that the weather does conspire to prevent us living the outdoor lifestyle in which we would all fully embrace, but hey, as they say,…. when life gives you lemons….etc. An Indoor picnic is what happens when you throw a few bits and pieces together so that you can pick and choose and munch on various bits, in the warmth of your home, to cheer yourself up, light a few candles, have a glass of wine and mentally go through all the clever, witty things you could have said to those people who annoyed you during your productive work day πŸ™‚ ahem!

So, for our indoor picnic, Dave cooked up the ultimate in comfort food, lovely herby roasties, roasted in goose fat, *(delish) and served them with mixed leaf salad, sprinkled with bacon and dressed with gorgeous homemade herby croutons, and dressing. Yes, it was a humble spread, but it managed to lift my spirits immensely!

The secret ingredient that made it all so deliciously herby and tasty was this little gem, “Good with Everything Sea Salt” , it includes Grey Sea Salt, Herbes de Provence (Thyme, Marjoram, Rosemary, Oregano, Savory, Basil, Tarragon) Black Pepper, Lavender, and can I just say, YES!!! it does do EXACTLY what it says on the tin! it really does go with everything,

Throw that salt over roastie potatoes before firing in the oven, and also over your Ciabatta croutons and then prepare yourself for a tasty treat.

Go on, have a simple indoor picnic and pretend you are in the south of France!
